In 2023, the Professor Charles Effiong Foundation extended its assistance to more than 50 underprivileged children in the Calabar Municipal, Calabar South, and Akamkpa Local Government Areas of Cross River State. The Foundation’s support encompassed various aspects of education and health, including the payment of school fees, provision of educational materials, treatment of minor illnesses, health education, and the supply of nutritional supplements. Additionally, approximately 30 caregivers from vulnerable households received seed grants of N5000 each to bolster their table market activities and alleviate the impact of the fuel subsidy removal.
The Foundation also prioritized the well-being of both children and caregivers by offering psychosocial support services, including recreational activities, individual counseling, and family counseling. These efforts aimed to address conflicts and challenges within households that might impede overall family development.
These initiatives were made possible through the generous contributions of individuals who supported these children throughout the year. The Foundation expresses gratitude for collaborating with these benevolent individuals, working together to instill hope in the lives of the vulnerable and contribute to the gradual improvement of our society, one child at a time.
