Championed by the Cross River State Ministry of Women Affairs, advocates against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) marked the annual 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence with a series of initiatives.

Running from November 25th to December 10th, the activities encompassed press conferences, advocacy visits to key government departments such as the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Justice, awareness campaigns, community dialogues with residents, sensitization programs in schools, and a culminating roadshow led by Rev. Eyoanwan Bassey Otu, the Wife of the Governor.

These endeavors were designed to raise awareness about gender-based violence and harmful practices, elucidate the laws safeguarding women and girls, and highlight available GBV services within the State. The overarching goal was to demonstrate solidarity in the collective effort to eradicate all forms of violence against women and girls.
